Modal
A window laid over the page that must be dealt with before anything else.
When to use it
- Important decisions that need confirming, such as deleting or paying
- Very short input, such as renaming
When not to
- Only giving information: a notice is enough
- Long forms, or a modal that opens another modal
What to tell an AI tool
On click, show a dialog in the center with the background dimmed; the user must confirm or cancel to get back to the page.
